Confirmed the adequation of gamification to Millennials and to the Internet natives workforce.
Confirmed the sensitive and somewhat volatile nature of gamification impact.
Gamification cannot be “switched on”, it is a managerial process that performs best when leveraging a participative style of management that empowers teams to endorse legitimate objectives and shape and control their game.
Rewards can be integrated effectively in gamification as long as they remain relatively minor and are not over-emphasized.
Gamification offers some significant side benefits in terms of real-time feedback and ease of use.
“Before turning 21, the average American has spent 2,000 – 3,000 hours reading books and more than 3x that playing video games. That makes the average Millennial very close to being a gaming expert” [Malcolm Gladwell In “Outliers: The Story of Success”]
